Aims and Scope

Tourism Policy (TP) is an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing knowledge and scholarly debate on tourism policy, governance, and strategic planning at local, national, and global levels. The journal aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to explore how public policies shape tourism development, sustainability, and socio-economic outcomes.

The journal seeks to publish high-quality theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research that contributes to a deeper understanding of the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of tourism policies. It encourages interdisciplinary approaches drawing from economics, geography, environmental studies, public policy, sociology, and business management to address the complex challenges facing contemporary tourism systems.

Tourism Policy (TP) particularly welcomes studies that examine the role of policy frameworks in promoting sustainable tourism, responsible destination management, climate resilience, and inclusive economic growth. PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

The journal is published Quarterly (4 issues per year: January, April, July, October).

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

This journal provides immediate OPEN ACCESS to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published by TP are made immediately available worldwide under an open access license. This means that everyone has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published. 

Open Access business model is adopted by TP. 

ARCHIVING

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
